FiRESiGN

FiRESiGN is a Japanese Indie rockband originally formed in 1998 by its lead vocalist, Aya, as a vehicle to promote her music and poetry. Since that time, FiRESiGN has been host to a menagerie of musical misfits. The most notable of these is FiRESiGN's current bassist, Masaki Yamada, formerly of EZO and Loudness.
History
The beginning of the new millennium heralded many changes among the Japanese music scene. In the spring of 2000, Masaki gave his final performance as lead vocalist of Loudness, after which he'd decided to hang up his microphone in exchange for a bass guitar. One year later, July 2001, Aya approaches Masaki in his new role of bassist at a performance in Queens, New York. Ideas are tossed about regarding a musical collaboration between the two of them. September 2001. In response to the World Trade Center terrorist attacks, FiRESiGN begins work on the CD Single, "Rise From the Ashes" in memory of the lives lost that day. The single is released in limited quantities on the one year anniversary of 9/11. It is later re-released in April of 2006. The following year, in October of 2007, Aya and Masaki release their first ever full length album; entitled Anger Management.
Trivia
FiRESiGN's Logo is derived from the tattoo on Aya's left shoulder which she had inked in 1997 at New York's historic Fun City Tattoo parlor.
