Firefly Communications is a European-based public relations consultancy founded in 1988. The company operates three offices in three countries across Europe and employs approximately 25 people. History The company was founded by Claire Walker in 1988. The company's first clients included Oracle and Dell. In 1997, Firefly helped launch BBC News Online and launched the Lastminute.com website in 1998. In 2000, Firefly helped 3M celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Post-it note with Miniature Masterpieces, which was nominated for the 2001 "Best Corporate Branding" award by PR Week. In 2001, Firefly worked with Yell.com, Compaq and dotmusic. In 2009, venture-capitalist James Caan began working with Firefly to "target print, broadcast and online media raise Caan's profile". The agreement also covers Caan's private equity firm, Hamilton Bradshaw. In 2010, one of Firefly's most substantial clients, LG Electronics, ended their contract when the decision was made to consolidate their company's global PR. In 2012, the company's managing director Mark Mellor died, aged 49, following a two year battle with cancer.
