Fightback is a Trotskyist newspaper in Canada. It is the Canadian affiliate of the International Marxist Tendency. The newspaper was founded as L'Humanité in 1999 and renamed Fightback in 2004. It currently has corespondents and supporters in Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto and Montreal. Fightback has a position of critical support towards the New Democratic Party, similar to other IMT affiliates which critically support mass workers' parties where they exist. Their Quebec-based supporters are organized as the International Marxist Tendency - Québec and have position of critical support towards Québec Solidaire. Fightback and IMT-Québec have also organized events to promote their political views such as a conference in Montreal featuring well-known Cuban Trotskyist Celia Hart and the annual Miner's Memorial Day on Vancouver Island. |
