thumb Ferris is a British mobile app that connects users that want to declutter with other users that want to acquire items in their area. Ferris is designed to reduce landfills by promoting reusing and giving away still-useful unwanted items as opposed to disposing of them. Ferris was launched in January 2021 by Nick Castle and Phil Galloway under the trading name of Ferris Applications Limited. In January 2022, Ferris raised £178,000 on crowdfunding platform Seedrs at a valuation of £1.6m. Ferris became part of the Greenhouse Accelerator in February 2022, in association with Imperial College London, which offers startups and early-stage entrepreneurs access to business coaching, a range of masterclasses, free workspace at the Royal Institution, and equity-free grant funding. |
