Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009

The Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009, also known as H. R. 1207, is a bill introduced in the United States House of Representatives of the 111th United States Congress by Representative Ron Paul (TX-14). The bill proposes an audit of the Federal Reserve System, the central bank of the United States, before the end of 2010. It has 55 co-sponsors, which is 25% of the needed 218 votes for passage (50% of 435, plus one) in the House. It has been referred to the Committee on Financial Services.

Paragraph 1: "To amend title 31, United States Code, to reform the manner in which the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System is audited by the Comptroller General of the United States and the manner in which such audits are reported, and for other purposes."
