Faris Al-Hammadi

Faris Al-Hammadi is an Emirati social media influencer and CrossFit owner. Al-Hammadi is an adherent of Madkhalism, an extremist strain of Salafi thought backed by some Arab dictatorships. A strong proponent of secular Emirati governance, Al-Hammadi works for the Emirati government's Islamic Information Center, which works to disseminate Madkhali media.
Graduating from Cambridge High School, Al-Hammadi attended college and then pursued a master's degree in marketing at the University of Wollongong; in 2015, he became a CrossFit trainer and affiliate owner, backing its adoption. He has never received any formal Islamic education.
In late 2023, he announced his opposition to boycotts of Israel and declared he believes protests to be haram. In November 2023, he proclaimed that "Palestinians betrayed Palestine," sparking a digital uproar. Al-Hammadi has been cited in various Emirati publications.
Al-Hammadi faced controversy over his comments about Islamic scholars Salman al-Ouda, Abu Ishaq al-Heweny and Yusuf al-Qaradawi, calling them "poisonous deviants." Al-Hammadi has been criticized by fellow Salafis.
