Fareham West

Fareham West is a Scout district within Hampshire, England; it consists of nine Scout groups. The district also has a large leadership and membership number. The district was once joined with the current Fareham East, but when membership increased dramatically they were split. The two districts undertook the St. Georges Day Parade at together in April 2008; this is something that hasn't happened for several years.
The district is run by a District Commissioner; Lester Eyres who conducts the workings along with a team of scouters.

1st Stubbington has all three sections; Beavers, Cubs and Scouts as well as hosting an explorer unit, Spartans.
Beavers - Thursdays 6:00-7:30,
Cubs - Tuesdays 6:30-8:00
Scouts - Mondays 7:15-9:15
Explorers - Wednesdays 7:30-9:30

1st Titchfield Sea Scouts
Titchfield Sea Scouts has both Beavers and Cubs leading into Scouts. Titchfield runs troop nights on Wednesday from 7 till 9.
Titchfield Scouts get very involved with their sailing and kayaking during the summer. They own several kayaks and Mirror Dingy.
The Cubs also get to go sailing once in a while with the scouts and instructors at HHSC (Hill Head Sailing Club in Hill Head .
Titchfield Scouts get involved with lots of camping and adventures around the county and even out of the country. They went to HamJam in 2007, the South of France in 2008 and Nottingham Sea Scout Centenary in 2009. That's along with all of the other weekend and week camp they do.

With two of each section, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts they are one of the larger groups in the District.
Their Sections consist of:
Red Oaks and Owls Beaver Colonies (Meeting Weds and Thurs respectively)
Dover and White Cub Packs(Tues and Thurs)
Fastnet and Vikings Scout Troops.
The Viking Scout troop has different meeting days dependent on the sailing season. In the Summer they meet on Tuesday and in the winter they meet on Wednesdays. Fastnet Troop meets on Thursdays irrespective of the season.
The Group was formed on the 16th of June 1965 & originally met at the Hook with Warsash School until their headquarters was opened by the then Hampshire County Commissioner Mr. Roy Farmers J.P. M.B.I.M on the 13th of October 1990.
They also host an Explorer Scout Unit at Warsash, called "Solent Sailors" they were formed in September 2002 & their numbers are increasing steadily.
The total number of uniformed members is approximately 143 (January 2005).

However joining one unit enables you to join in with activities from the others. Also many activities within the district are open for all units any way.
