Fady Alnajjar (or Fady S.K. Alnajjar, or Fady S.K. Alnajjar Shibata "Japanese Name") is a research scientist in the Embodiment and Consciousness Unit in the BTCC (The RIKEN Brain Science Institute- TOYOTA Collaboration Center) of RIKEN (The Institute of Physical and Chemical Research at Nagoya, Japan). Previously, he was working as a post-doctor with Professor Jun Tani in the laboratory for the Behavior and Dynamic Cognition, BSI RIKEN. He is the inventor of ASNN model (Aplysia-like Spiking Neural Network), as a part of his Ph.D. thesis, a model that uses the associative facilitation circuit of the sea slug, Aplysia to construct an adaptive controller for mobile robot with minimal artificial Spiking neural network structure. He also suggested various dynamic models for autonomous learning and memory in physical robot. His works have been published in in a variety of international journals, conferences, and workshops that generally related to Artificial Intelligence System, including Adaptive Behavior, International Journal of Neural Systems, , etc. . Fady received his B.E degree in Computer Engineering from Ittihad University in 2004, his M.E in Human and Artificial Intelligent Systems from the University of Fukui in 2007, and his Ph.D., in System Design Engineering from the University of Fukui, Japan in 2010. Fady Alnajjar is now a member in Japan Neuroscience Society, IEEE and Computational Intelligent Society. Regarding to his side activities, fady is currently the 2nd director of Fukui Muslim Association for Cultural Exchange , and the secretary general of the Muslim Student Association Japan (MSAJ). Currently his main research interest is varying between: 1- Conducting synthetic studies to simulate superficially some regions in the frontal lobe through a hierarchical manner using a Multiple Timescale Recurrent neural network (MTRNN) introduced by (Yamashita & Tani, 2008). His studies aim to understand how the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (corresponding to Brodmann area (BA) 9/46) with its neighboring regions, such as the lateral frontopolar cortex (BA 10), the Premotor cortex (BA 8 & BA 6), and the Primary motor cortex (BA 4) are structured and linked to ruling the cognitive branching task, one of the known higher cognitive tasks, in which a delaying to the execution of an original task occurs until the completion of a subordinate task. The study is mainly conducting based on anatomical and functional image data collected from the brain of monkey and human. 2- Understand how the brain controlling Human posture and body balance. As for his side research interest, in March 2009 during the , he presented an idea for real application in harnessing various advanced computer technologies towards building smart education system in UAE's universities..
