Fabricio Mattos

Fabricio Mattos is a Brazilian guitarist. He is the founder, executive and artistica director of the Worldwide Guitar Connections.
Biography
Fabricio Mattos, Brazilian guitarist, began his musical studies at age six being taught by his father, the saxophonist Elio Mattos, and at fourteen, after studies of flute and violin, he was introduced to the classical guitar taking lessons with Dirceu Saggin. Winner of over then ten national and international competitions, and honors such as “Julian Bream Award” (conferred by the legendary guitarist Julian Bream), "Ivor Mairants Guitar Award (London) and" WeShow Video Award”. He launched in 2007 his first solo CD, "España", on a tour of 15 concerts in 10 Brazilian states. Participated in 2009 of the "SESC Sonora Brasil" tour, playing 83 concerts all over the Brazilian territory, which is considered the biggest concert guitar tour ever done in Brazil. Fabricio has an intense artistic activity, working constantly as a soloist and chamber musician in Brazil and several European countries. He graduated from the Schoolf of Music and Fine Arts of Paraná, under tuition of Luiz Cláudio Ribas Ferreira, and attended to the Masters in music performance at the Royal Academy of Music in London, taking lessons with guitarists like Michael Lewin, Timothy Walker, Fabio Zanon, and Julian Bream. She also handles didactic, teaching guitar to students of diverse levels, in physical presence or via the Internet. Fabricio Mattos currently resides in Turin, Italy.
Collaborations
Fabricio Mattos constantly collaborates with composers from various musical languages, such as Harry Crowl, Mario Ferraro, Márcio Steuernagel, Paul Hart, Salomão Habib, Katerina Stamatelos, among others, by dedicating himself to a development and refinement of the musical approach on the guitar, through contact with various ways of expression in music. Fabricio acts as a scholar on guitar performance, performing constantly, both as soloist and chamber musician, always looking for a distinguished interpretation that values the artistic personality and sound and phrasing quality.
