Fabian Williamson

Fabian Williamson (born October 20, 1988) is an American baseball starting pitcher who is a free agent. He has played in the minor leagues since 2007.
He was born in Panorama City, California. Prior to playing professionally, he attended John F. Kennedy High School in Granada Hills, California.
He was drafted in the 22nd round of the 2006 amateur draft by the Seattle Mariners and was signed by scouts Phil Pote and Greg Whitworth.
Williamson began his professional career in 2007, appearing in 14 games for the AZL Mariners and in one game for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. He went 6-2 with a 3.43 ERA and 73 strikeouts in 65.2 innings with the AZL Mariners. He tied Euclides Viloria for second in the Arizona League in strikeouts, trailing only Michael Anton. He was also second in wins. With the Timber Rattlers, he earned a no-decision in his only game, pitching six innings and allowing no earned runs.
In 2008, he played for the Pulaski Mariners, going 4-3 with a 4.10 ERA in 11 games started. In 52.2 innings, he struck out 67 batters. On January 20, 2009, he was traded to the Boston Red Sox for David Aardsma. With the Greenville Drive in 2009, he was 10-5 with a 2.42 ERA in 28 games (12 starts). He began 2010 with the Salem Red Sox (14 GS, 4-3 W-L, 3.72 ERA), before being traded to the Oakland Athletics for Eric Patterson. He finished the season with the Stockton Ports (13 GS, 5-2 W-L, 4.57 ERA) and was 9-5 with a 4.14 ERA in 27 games overall.
In 2011, Williamson was 3-6 with a 7.16 ERA in 22 games (12 starts) split between the Ports and Midland RockHounds. He was let go by Oakland following that season and signed with the independent Winnipeg Goldeyes of the American Association. He was 2-4 with a 3.63 ERA with them before the Atlanta Braves purchased his contract and assigned him to the Rome Braves, where he was 2-4 with a 4.29 ERA in 14 games. Overall, he was 4-8 with a 4.00 ERA in 22 games (15 starts). The hurler began 2013 in independent ball, going 6-2 with a 3.42 ERA in 18 games (12 starts) for the American Association's Laredo Lemurs. He was 1-4 with a 6.61 ERA in 7 starts for the Bakersfield Blaze after the Cincinnati Reds purchased him in July.
