Extreme Low Energy (ELe) is a company based in Skelmersdale, Lancashire, the United Kingdom which delivers patented low voltage energy infrastructures powering electronic equipment and end-to-end low voltage solutions.
History
Extreme Low Energy (ELe) was founded in 2014 by Mark Buchanan. The main idea behind the company was to save energy by removing the AC/DC conversion process when powering electronic and low-voltage devices.
Funding
Extreme low energy was started with a Start-up loan secured through the Chamber of Commerce for £50,000 and has since secured funding of £ 750,000 investment from Maven Capital and the Northern Power House Investment Fund. It has also received Innovation Vouchers and grants with the most recent being a £207,000 project from the UK Research & Innovation (UKRI) to develop “Low Energy Server” technology.

2017 - ELe won Innovation awards at “Energy Institute Award 2017”.
2017 - ELe won Merseyside Innovation Awards and Liverpool Echo Green Champions Awards.
2018 - North West Business Insider selects Extreme Low Energy / ELe for the region’s 50 Most Exciting Companies of 2018.
