Evita Robinson

After growing up in New York and graduating from Iona college Evita Turquoise Robinson began traveling the world and and videotaping her life. Her web-series NomadnessTV spurred on her desire to continue travel. With her degree in television and production, in 2011 she created Nomadness Travel Tribe, a community of travelers looking to be involved in the 'urban travel movement'. She soon launched her travel web docuseries, The NOMADNESS Project with HBO's Issa Rae.
After finding out about her Ancestry on the popular website Ancestry.com, Robinson spread the idea for others to track their DNA and visit the place they were from. This took on a huge trend within the urban travel movement. In 2015 Evita collaborated with Rue 107 to create swimsuits inspired by NOMADNESS Travel Tribe. In 2016 Evita and her group held their first #NMDN conference where workshops and panels were held to encourage and inspire the group of travelers. After returning from a trip to Japan, Evita was cast in a travel web series "Jet Set Zero" where she lived with 3 male roommates and was videotaped in Thailand and Cambodia. Evita is always looking to encourage more African Americans to travel, in 2014 she attended a think tank at "Black Girls Rock."
