The European Academy of Sciences (EurASc) () is an organization aiming to promote excellence in science and technology. Based in Brussels, Belgium. It was established on 17 December 2003. It is not to be confused with an older and well recognized European Academy of Sciences and Arts based in Salzburg. Divisions The academy has nine divisions: *Chemistry *Computational and Information Sciences *Earth and Environmental Sciences *Engineering *Materials Science *Mathematics *Medicine and Life Sciences *Physics *Social Sciences Awards Leonardo da Vinci Award The Leonardo da Vinci Award was established in 2009 for Outstanding Lifelong Achievement. One award is attributed per year. Awardees *2009: Rita Levi-Montalcini *2010: Jacques Friedel *2011: James D. Murray *2013: Michael Grätzel *2015: Jean Jouzel *2017: Vincenzo Balzani *2018: John M. The European Academy of Sciences is not a member of umbrella organisations like the InterAcademy Panel on International Issues (IAP) or the All European Academy, (ALLEA) as the members of these associations are national Academies, and EurASc is an international association.
