Dr. Eugene Dokes is an American politician, professor and author. Dokes is also a notable author and theorist on entrepreneurship topics. He is noted most because of his presence in politics. He served as the former Chairman for the Republican party in St. Charles County, Missouri, one of the largest Republican counties in the country. In 2008, Dr. Dokes became the first ever black Republican Vice Chair in that County. A year later, Dokes was the first ever (and one of the youngest) black Chairs for this county. St. Charles County was at the time noted as the the 2nd largest Republican Counties in the country. Dokes also served on the Missouri's Advisory Board for the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. Dokes, left politics after an unsuccessful bid for State Representative in November 2012. In 2011 Dokes was a PhD Student at Capella University and was awarded as a Presidential Management Fellow from the U.S. Office of Personnel. Six months later, he released a book called The Entrepreneurial System. In this book Dr. Dokes described entrepreneurship as exisitng in systems throughout different communities. He made a case that the system components (or the lack of) could be the determining cause for entrepreneurial success in each community. Prior to his world of entrepreneurship and government policy. Eugene Dokes served in the U.S. Navy and supported Operation Enduring Freedom. On a side note, Dokes participated in a Million Dollar Special of "The Price is Right" with Bob Barker in 2003. Today Dokes serves as President of a Missouri based consulting firm and research company. He also serves as adjunct faculty at Lindenwood University.
