Eric John Ogg

Eric John Ogg (born October 17, 1988 in Pontiac, MI) is an American Baseball Player for the Oakland Grizzlies, an affiliate of NCAA Division 1 Baseball.


Biography

Eric Ogg was raised in Waterford, Michigan until the age of fourteen. He then moved to Clarkston, where he currently resides. During his time in Waterford, he attended schools within the Clarkston school system. His family then moved to Clarkston in order for him to continue his athletic career within the local high school in that area, Clarkston High School, as well as keeping the travel time down between school and his residence

High School Career

Eric Ogg began playing baseball at the age of five, and his continued dilligence toward the sport landed him on his high school's varsity team his freshman year in 2004. He played on varsity during all four years of his high school career, becoming a storied figure in Clarkston legend and lore.

2004

In 2004, Eric Ogg hit (0 for 12), for a Batting Average of .000. He scored one run, had two strikeouts, and was limited to a utility role on the team. That year, his team went 26-8, including an 11-3 conference mark.

2005

In 2005, Ogg was able to secure a starting role in Centerfield for the up and coming Clarkston Wolves. During his sophomore campaign, Ogg hit .319 (30 for 94), with Two Home Runs and Twenty Three Runs Batted In. Ogg also had tweleve Stolen Bases, showing his speed on the Base Paths. His team went 20-11, including a 6-6 conference mark.

2006

2006 can be considered the year where Eric Ogg got on the map. He hit .486 (54 for 111) with three HR's and eleven RBI. He stole 35 bases, which was a Clarkston High School Record. During his junior he started to receive serious interest from a plethora of Division One schools, including Oakland University, Michigan State, and Central Michigan. CHS went 19-12 in 2006, including a 7-5 mark in conference play. Ogg would later garner All-State honorable mention honors.

2007

Before the season, Ogg was ranked as the ninth best county prosepect by The Oakland Press. During 2007, Ogg led a senior laden Wolves team to a record of 26-5, including an 13-1 conference mark. The Wolves would later lose in the state semifinals to Lake Orion. During his senior year, Ogg hit .392 (40 for 102) with no HR's and 18 RBI's. He broke his own high school record with 45 Stolen Bases, and was a Second Team All State selection.

College Career

After some recruitment from universities, Ogg decided to accept a Partial Scholarship from Oakland University. He accepted their offer over other offers from Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, and Western Michigan, along with many Community Colleges.

2008

As a true freshman, Ogg saw action in 25 games, drawing the start in 15 ... made his OU debut against Kentucky (2/26) ... posted six multi-hit games on the season ... went 2-for-5 with three runs scored at George Washington (3/8) ... 2-for-5 with two RBI against Eastern Michigan (4/9) ... picked up a season-high three hits with a double at Bowling Green (4/23). Personal Life

Son of John and Diane Ogg....Resides currently in Clarkston, Michigan during the offseason. Hobbies include golf and watching movies.
