English royal descent from Muhammad

There have been attempts to establish the descent of the medieval English monarchs from the Islamic prophet Muhammad. None has yet been successful, and no such descent is generally accepted.

Best established line
The best attempt to establish such a link is as follows.
The line has several weak links, firstly whether Ismail, Imam of Seville was the 11th generation descendent of Muhammad, and secondly if Zaida of Seville was the wife, mistress or only daughter-in-law of Alfonso VI of Castile. Many genealogists dispute the connection between al-Hasan and Ismail, claiming that it includes fictional characters specifically invented by medieval genealogists trying to link the Abbadid dynasty, founded by Ismail’s son, to Muhammad.
