Encouraging Sign

"Encouraging Sign"is the second single taken from ' by the Birmingham baggy-influenced band The Twang. The single was released on October 18th 2009 as a download only single in the UK and reached #88 in the UK singles chart. The video was shot at the band's sold out show at the opening night of the O2 Academy in Birmingham. It is a favourite with the fans and remains a highlight of the band's live performances. The artwork for the single features the band's lead singer Phil Etheridge and was also taken at the Bimingham 02 Academy. It was praised on the BBC's review of '. They wrote "the highlight, Encouraging Sign has a gorgeous, looped-piano; from men you wouldn't trust to move a piano. Its conversational delivery of, A quick step over the roof tops/to get to your house is disarmingly romantic, as is, I don’t mean much I say/but when I said I liked you I really mean it The band themselves have also said that there favourite track off the record is Encouraging Sign. Jon, the bass player, was quoted was being ""blown away" when he heard the basics of the song written by co-vocalists Phil Etheridge and Martin Saunders .
