Emanuel Pleitez

Emanuel Pleitez (born December 15, 1982) is a political aide who served as a member of the Obama-Biden Presidential Transition Team for the US Treasury Department . Pleitez served previously as a Council Aide for then-Council member Antonio Villaraigosa, co-ordinating efforts to increase civil participation in El Sereno in California's 32nd congressional district. Nationally, Pleitez worked under U.S. Senators Tom Daschle and Hillary Clinton on the Senate Democratic Steering and Coordination Committee. Pleitez also served as a Field Organizer in the battleground states of Missouri and Florida for the John Kerry-John Edwards Presidential campaign. In the private sector, Pleitez has worked as a financial analyst.
Pleitez has declared his intention to run in the , an election scheduled to fill the seat that will be vacated assuming Hilda Solis is confirmed as U.S. Secretary of Labor in January 2009.
Personal life
Pleitez was born and raised in the Eastside of Los Angeles, California. He is the oldest of two children, raised by his single mother, Isabel Bravo, who immigrated from Mexico. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in El Sereno and earned his B.A. from Stanford University. He currently resides in El Sereno, and is engaged to Cynthia Carrasco.
