Elvire Jaspers

Elvire Jaspers (born 18 October 1969 in Maastricht, the Netherlands) is a Dutch public servant, the director-general of Nederlandse Publieke Omroep (2016-2021),researcher and advocate for diversity and inclusion in the tech sector. She holds a PhD in artificial intelligence and human-computer interaction from Delft University of Technology, where she researched ethical AI and workforce diversity.
Early life and education
Jaspers was born in Maastricht in 1969. She received higher education in Small Business at Hogeschool Haarlem between 1991 and 1995.
Career
Elvire Jaspers began her entrepreneurial career as a partner at InterimIC in 2005. in April 2011 she co-founded ietsmooier, where she served as a partner until her exit in June 2017.
She went on to co-found YuShift in July 2013, remaining involved until January 2017. Jaspers holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence and Human-Computer Interaction from Delft University of Technology, where she conducted research on ethical AI and inclusive digital transformation.
In 2015, Elvire Jaspers co-founded WeAreBrain and co-founded clevergig in January 2016, which was acquired by Visma in 2023. In September 2017, Jaspers co-founded Tur.ai, an artificial intelligence and hyper-automation platform. Elvire Jaspers was recognized twice as one of TheNextWomen100 in the Netherlands. In 2020, she was awarded as the Most Influential Leader in Technology Development and Amsterdam Top Female Entrepreneurs.
In addition to her business and research career, Jaspers served as the director-general of Nederlandse Publieke Omroep (NPO), the Dutch public broadcasting organization, from 2016 to 2021. During her tenure, she focused on digital innovation in media and the promotion of diverse voices in national broadcasting.
In 2021, Elvire Jaspers was named of the 11 AI leaders from Amsterdam.
In November 2022, Elvire Jaspers was appointed to the Board of DDA, the Member Association of Dutch Digital Agencies,.
In 2024, Jaspers was named one of the leading female tech leaders in the Netherlands. Elvire Jaspers is recognized as one of the most influential digital agency leaders, according to the MarketingReport Digital Agency 100 list for 2025.
Social activity
Since 2018, she is a part of the EY Winning Women network, where Ernst & Young empowers female founders worldwide, supporting their growth and success.
