Elliot and the Magic Bed

Elliot and the Magic Bed is the fantastic story of a boy on a journey with his mom to find an extra hour in the day. It is a musical written by Brian Lowdermilk and Marcus Stevens. Elliot first premiered at Upper Darby Summer Stage in 2003.

Plot
A young boy, Elliot, is always making up stories and imagining wonderful adventures, but he doesn't find much time for the real world. His father, teacher, baby sitter and mother all try to teach him, but instead he teaches them how to dream the impossible. He goes on a journey with his mother to find an extra hour in the day. First, they come to some mermaids led by the mermaid queen (the baby sitter) who points them towards the golden clock of clockastralia, which can stop time.
Unfortunately, the clock was stolen by some pirates. Elliot and his mom are captured by the pirates and are tied up, but Elliot is able to get them free by talking to the captain (his teacher) about how reason isn't
always the answer. Sometimes we just need to have fun. The pirates then help them to find the clock, which had been stolen from them by an evil
wizard (his father). The evil wizard is sucking the power of all of the
other wizards, and making them his slaves. In the end, by working with
everyone they had met, Elliot gets the clock, but when Elliot and his
mom return home it is gone. But, only a few minutes have passed in the
real world. His mom learns that Elliot was right all along. Life should
be enjoyed and you need to
share it with the ones you love.
As the song says, "hold on tight with all your strength, I’m
holding to you!"
