ElePaper Action

right ElePaper Action is a dojin soft game for Microsoft Windows created by Easy Game Station based on the anime series R.O.D: the TV, with elements from other video games and anime such as Rolling Thunder and Cromartie High School. The title is a spoof of the 1983 Taito game Elevator Action, though the two games bear no similarities in gameplay, except for the bonus game during the credits. The game is a one-player-only side-scroller with elements similar to both Metal Slug and Final Fight, as well as some RPGs such as Valkyrie Profile and even shooters such as Gradius.

Game Description
The Paper Sisters or Agent Paper must retrieve a book, but robots, soldiers, super-clones, and evil agents keep them from their quarry.

The heroes must defeat their opponent using paper attacks; defeating enemies increases the heroes' amount of paper ammunition. The heroes can pick up items (in the form of milk and parfaits) to recover health. Progress involves entering a stage and fighting your way to the end, defeating all enemies along the path, culminating in a boss character at the end which must be defeated before moving on to the next stage. One of the stages is a side-scrolling aerial battle rather than hand-to-hand combat.

The game is controlled using either a keyboard, or a joypad/joystick with at least three buttons. The use of the buttons vary depending on the characters chosen, either The Paper Sisters or Yomiko Readman. For the sake of the game, the three Paper Sisters are considered a single character.

Controls native to both characters are left and right movement, up to jump, and down (once) to duck; down twice will keep the Paper Sisters ducking, while it will have a separate action on Yomiko (see below).

The control of the individual characters works as follows:

The Paper Sisters
*Anita (controlled by the A button): the player primarily controls Anita (the youngest sister, who stands in the front of the group). When she runs into an enemy, she automatically attacks, but does little damage. Pressing her button allows her to travel farther from the other two sisters and do more damage, but also activates a circular timer that envelopes Anita. When the timer runs out, she and the other two sisters will reunite, and the timer will recharge; Anita cannot detach again until the timer recharges. Anita's attacks do not use up paper ammo, except when pressing down after performing a 3 attack combo, where it will rapidly toss out 5 cards and use up 5 paper ammo.

*Michelle (controlled by the B button): Michelle's attacks vary in strength depending on whether Anita is attached to the group or not. When Anita is attached, Michelle will fire a single arrow; when Anita is detached, Michelle will fire a volley of arrows. Michelle's single arrow uses up 5 pieces of paper, while her volley uses considerably more.

*Maggie (controlled by the C button): similar to Michelle, Maggie's attacks vary depending on whether Anita is separated from the group. When attached, Maggie will create a paper wall; when detached, Maggie will summon a paper animal to aid Anita, repeated pressing of the button (up to three times) creates an increasingly larger animal. Maggie's attacks use up the bulk of the paper ammunition depending on the size of the creature created; when creating the wall, after it falls, all papers will return to the inventory save any that have been destroyed by enemy fire. Also if Anita jumps off of the paper wall, she can perform a powerful downward slice attack.

* Aerial Combat: In the aerial combat stage, the Paper Sisters fly inside a giant paper bird while chasing their airborne enemies. In this stage, the A button fires a small volley of paper which uses no ammunition; the B button fires a huge volley of paper which uses 100 sheets of ammunition. Small orbs fly by which can be shot to regain health.

Yomiko
Controlling Yomiko varies radically from the above in that the player controls only one character, Yomiko, who is slower and jumps lower, yet more powerful and versatile than the Paper Sisters. Control of Yomiko varies on the A, B, or C button pressed. Additionally, an extra function is activated when pressing the down direction twice.

*A Button: Yomiko will attack normally with either punches or kicks. These punches and kicks can be chained together for both faster damage to the opponent as well as increasing paper ammunition recovered from defeated enemies. Yomiko's A Button attacks do not use up ammunition.

*B Button: Yomiko will attack with what has been selected in the Attack Gauge. These attacks will use an increasing amount of paper, depending on the attack selected.

*C Button: this button selects the attack Yomiko will use, cycling through the available attacks in the Attack Gauge. The attacks increase in power in order of magnitude, as well as use up ammunition in the same order of magnitude. The attacks are as follows: paper shuriken, a shield that will damage opponents that run into it, paper homing missiles, paper ground spikes, a paper fan that can swat away enemies at greater range, and a giant paper plane that destroys everything in its path.

*Down Twice: Yomiko will create a shorter barrier similar to Maggie's, though it will not damage enemies like her shield. Yomiko can hop atop the barrier to access locations that she cannot normally jump to.

* Aerial Combat: The aerial stage works the same way for Yomiko as for the Paper Sisters, except her paper airplane maneuvers more quickly, and the A button attack fires a narrower stream of paper.
