Electric Sea Spider

Electric Sea Spider is the stage name of Australian experimental electronic artist Jim Sellars (born 1990). He currently resides in Melbourne, Australia. Since 2009 he would go on to provide music for surfing programs on Nine Network, and emphasize the use of sampling in his compositions. He released his debut album Mohican Beats on independent Wisconsin label Mine, All Mine Records in 2010. Music magazine Cyclic Defrost noted it's influence from artists such as Flying Lotus, but described its more "blurred out direction" and use of "dreamily bleeping electronics".<ref name="Reviews: Electric Sea Spider - Mohican Beats" /> He cites influence from Hip Hop music, alongside artists such as Hudson Mohawke, The Avalanches, Durlin Lurt and Mr Oizo.<ref name="SYN FN interview" /> Discography * Mohican Beats (Mine, All Mine Records, 2010) |
