ElDewrito

ElDewrito (also known as Eldorito) is a total conversion modification of the canceled Russian game, which runs in a modified version of the Halo 3 engine. The current version is 0.5.1.1, and the latest and last update, 0.6, has been announced to be in development. The successor to ElDewrito, dubbed Anvil Online, has also been announced to be in development.
Overview
ElDewrito is based on a leaked build of the Halo Online alpha, and intends to restore the game (partially) to a Halo 3-esque state, while still including features (that can be turned off in the server settings) such as Sprint and assassination animations, features of modern Halo games often criticized by old fans of the series. It includes all multiplayer maps and game modes from Halo 3's base game, as well as two never seen before maps from the original Halo Online game and the Halo 3 Forge map editor, Halo 4-like armor customization accesible through the launcher, a mix of old and new weapons, vehicles and powerups from both the Bungie Halo games, and the 343 Industries Halo games, as well as using a mix of both art styles. The only way of play is multiplayer, and has support for third-party servers hosting a wide variety of custom game modes and Forge-modified multiplayer maps.
Development
Start of Development
At an unspecified date development on ElDewrito in the beginning started quick but rocky, due to the apparent rushing of the entire project, project leads executing plans with no visible design choices, resulting in frustration and a number of developers to quit due to the way the project was handled.
A few months later, the team had managed to make an unstable client, and release some updates, but without quality standards being followed. The client was also very hard to update, hard to redistribute and the more updates made to the client, the more harder and tedious the updating process became. Therefore the former developers FishPhd and emoose, current developer AssaultCommand and community members Bitl and theTwister managed to provide a launcher to simplify the client updating process, but the launcher itself wasn't easy to maintain either, and had issues that slowed down update releases further.
After hearing this improvement, a few of the members that quit before returned to make seperate projects and begin experimenting with resolving the current client had. While the ElDewrito team leaders had complete control of the project, they told the other team members that it was a joint effort, and a major vote from the team was needed to make major decisions.
