Ekhono Taanchi (Documentary Film) Ekhono Taanchi is a Bengali documentary film directed by Suman Adhikary. This film based on Hand Pulled Rickshaw in Kolkata. Plot Man pulled Rickshaws are a heritage of Kolkata. In years, the number of man pulled Rickshaws have decreased. The few who remain in this profession, remain not by choice....but by compulsion. To support those unfulfilled families who depend on these charioteers of the City of Joy. The government who once left the responsibility of transportation of more than a bulk of the middle-class society on the shoulders of these "working-class heroes" is now looking for justifications to take them off road.Yet they pull this heritage on their fragile shoulders which corrode with every passing moment under the constant whip-lashes of poverty and agony.Every unspoken sigh of grief, every unattended pain in their eyes remind us of what is left of Us. In this documentary film we try to fabricate Their side of the story,as they keep carrying the city on their shoulders. Filming The film is produced by Truemoon Motion Pictures. The shooting of this film has been done in different places of Kolkata like Shobhabazar, Shyambazar, Gariahat, Ballygunge and outside Kolkata like Bhangor, Raghunathpur etc. Rickshaw Drivers * Ajit Pramanik * Kartick Sardar * Kishanji Cast * Sabari Chakraborty * Raja Sen * Raja Das * Silajit Majumder * Chandan Sen * Joy Goswami * Bratati Bandopadhyay * Kharaj Mukherjee * Badsha Maitra Crew * Kasturi Chakraborty * Jishnu Mukherjee * Avik Singha Roy * Suman Adhikry Acknowledgements
