EComfort

eComfort (eComfort.com) is a direct-to-consumer ecommerce startup in Buffalo Grove, IL that offers an online shop for heating and cooling equipment. The company was founded by Pavel Sokolovsky after he recognized the benefits that zero-logistics strategies could have on a niche industry that had previously relied heavily on distributors. The company sells inventory directly to the consumer from many of the largest brands and suppliers in the HVAC industry.
History
Creation
eComfort was co-founded in Illinois in 2009 by Pavel Sokolovsky and Victor Taras after 14+ years working in various aspects of the HVAC Business. eComfort was started as a digital retail store without investor capital or initial backing. The comapny's goal was to increase consumers access to a larger selection of products and manufacturers than was typically available from local contractors.
Growth
As of 2015, eComfort has grown from two to twenty employees, increasing its workforce tenfold to account for a rise in sales that has continued to exceed $13 Million in revenue since 2013. Initially, eComfort kept a "bare minimum" inventory on hand, relying on distributors' inventories, but has since added a warehouse to its main office to stock popular items for faster shipping.
In 2013 and 2014, eComfort was listed in the IR Second 500.
In 2014, eComfort was named as a part of the Inc. 5000.
