Eastside Educational Trust

The Eastside Educational Trust is a registered children’s charity and a London based youth arts provider. It was established in 1994 by its co-founders, Artistic Director Christopher Enticott and Arts Development Director Rakhee Jasani, who both continue to jointly manage the charity today. The Chair of the Board of Trustees is Jeremy Rodell and the Vice President is actor and theatre director Roger Martin.
The charity provides creative arts projects that they run in schools and youth clubs such at the ArtStart Project. They also provide projects for young people who are not in school or in employment.
As well as working with children in London and the surrounding areas, Eastside has also run national and international projects in the UK and overseas.
Their mission is to introduce children of all ages to the arts and literature in London and to raise young people's standards of achievement in language, literacy and artistic endeavour by unlocking the creative potential in everyone. Their projects cover the entire spectrum of creative arts for young people including literature development, creative writing, poetry, drama, dance, singing, music technology, citizenship, film-making, sculpture and visual arts.
The workshops and projects are run by professional arts practitioners and cover a broad spectrum of the arts including literature, drama, music, singing, dance and visual art. There is also a volunteer department where people who want to work in the arts can become interns or volunteer on the charity’s projects.
