Downtown Mayhem, LLC is an American music and media group started in 2010 by Francis "Stixx" Mothersille & Jimmi-Lee Yates. Companies subsidiaries include DTM Records and Stixx & Stones Productions. Early Beginnings Long time friends Jimmi-Lee Yates & Francis “Stixx” Mothersille met in NYC in 2009, and founded Downtown Mayhem in summer of 2010. They came up with the idea to start Downtown Mayhem Radio, an online radio show geared to party-goers and music lovers of the LES, hipster, and downtown New York underground music scene. Showcasing only local talented artists on the show, Downtown Mayhem Radio was able to give underground artist a platform to be heard by a larger audience. DTM Records After a successful year long run of Downtown Mayhem Radio, Yates, and Mothersille decided to launch a recording label. Signing the artists they once supported on their radio show. With Mothersille as CEO, Yates as President of the Music Division,& Tatyana Megginson as Public Relations President. They later bought on Angelina Henry as Creative Director. Together they formed DTM Records: an independent recording and distribution label. Scouting lower Manhattan for acts, Mothersille found a hip-hop duo by the name of B.A.M (By Any Means) and decided that this would be their first project as a record label. The company then sought out Andrew Furlani, and recorded and produced what would be their first studio album "Made Men: A Downtown Mayhem Production". On January 3rd 2011, Downtown Mayhem, LLC’s 1-year anniversary "Made Men: A Downtown Mayhem Production" was released to the public. Cakes da Killa Cakes da Killa was DTM Records second act to launch. After being invited to showcase on "Downtown Mayhem Vol. 1" alongside artist RipTheRuler & Dai Burger. Downtown Mayhem signed Cakes da Killa, and began work on his debut project "Easy Bake Oven". After 6 months of studio sessions, "Easy Bake Oven" released to the public in fall 2011, and became a cult-classic amidst the LGBT community, and eventually became a widely recognized across the board by genuine music lovers. Subsidiaries Downtown Mayhem also owns several other subsidiary companies. Which include DTM Records, Stixx & Stones Productions, & DTM Management. Stixx & Stones Productions is operated by Francis Mothersille, and a umbrella used to produce film, and visuals. Stixx & Stones Productions is responsible for the music videos "#GRINDTIME" & "BIG BOOB B*TCH" by Queens, NY rapper Dai Burger. DTM Management was created by the duo to manage the careers of artists, entertainers, musicians, and socialites. Downtown Mayhem, LLC's passion project is Downtown Mayhem Sound System currently operated by Stixx's father. It is mainly a reggae based sound system, but ultimately caters to all genres.
