DoubleJay Creative

DoubleJay Creative is a visual media production company founded by Larsen Jay in 2005. DJC specializes in television specials, commercials, documentary, educational & corporate films supported by web and graphic design departments. Larsen’s first film, Pinmonkeys, was the first film ever to be entirely shot and edited digitally. Larsen's wife Adrian Jay began working for DoubleJay in the production department in 2006, though she now heads up the development team. DJC has an office in LA--headed up by Raul Celaya-- which serves as an extension of DJC's developing film department.

In 2006 Larsen authored a book, "What If Cows Could...", illustrated by Laurie Faust. It was co-published by DoubleJay Creative in cooperation with Bear Hug Books (an imprint of MidAmerica Publishing Corporation).

Major Projects
* "Bijou Theatre: The Gem of the South"-- Knoxville's historic re-opened after extensive renovations in June 2006. DoubleJay Creative partnered with AC Entertainment to produced a documentary retracing its history. The film premiered before a live audience and was simulcast on the local NBC affiliate, WBIR TV10.

* "Knoxville's Holidays on Ice"-- Founded in 2005, Holidays on Ice brought ice skating back to Market Square. Originally the rink was run by DoubleJay Creative under the guidance of the CBID (Central Business Improvement District), a wing of the Chamber of Commerce. In 2007, a non-profit organization, Center City Events, was created specifically to deal with the rink when DoubleJay Creative refocused their business strategy.

*"Welcome Back To Union College"-- DoubleJay Creative has made a series of videos about Union College, in Schenectady to promote the college.

Awards
* "Bijou Theatre: The Gem of the South" won a Silver Telly Award, and received a nomination for a regional Emmy Award from the Nashville/Midsouth Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. DJC was awarded an Aegis Award in 2006 for "Bijou Theatre: The Gem of the South" and a Davey Award in the same year for the Bijou's event program.

* "Welcome Back To Union College" won a Silver Telly in 2007. This film also won 2007's 37th Annual Creativity Awards together with 420 other companies and received the Gold CASE II Award from CASE District II.

* "SAIC"-- DoubleJay Creative's work for the School of the Art Institute of Chicago received a Silver Creativity Award from the Annual Creativity Awards in TV/Film-Video.

DoubleJay Creative has also been an active force in Knoxville's urban development. In 2005 DJC was the driving force behind bringing back Knoxville's Holidays on Ice, a skating rink on Market Square which had been closed for a decade. In 2007 a non-profit organization, Center City Events , was founded to administrate the day-to-day workings of the rink. DJC has also been involved in philanthropy: the annual Joy of Music School fundraiser raises significant amounts of money for this local non-profit.
