Dorset Sprinter is the trading name of Travel Guest, a bus operator based in Bournemouth, Dorset, England. They operate one regular bus route from Ringwood to Southampton. History The company was formed in 2009 by Paul Guest. It acquired three Leyland Lynx single-deck buses from Cardiff Bus, and began operation in August 2009 on a route 274 between Bournemouth and Weymouth. However, this ceased operation after just one week. Travel Guest instead began to focus on relaunching the Bournemouth-Ringwood-Southampton express service, previously operated by Wilts & Dorset as route X33, which had been withdrawn in 2005. The company commenced operation of the service in September 2009 as two routes, numbered X55 between Bournemouth and Ringwood and X5 between Ringwood and Southampton, and was received favourably by some passengers. Vehicles were painted in a livery of lime green with route branding for the X5 and X55. In March 2010, the company acquired an additional bus, a Volvo B6/Alexander Dash. From 19 April 2010 only service X5 between Ringwood and Southampton continued to operate, to an amended timetable. The section between Ringwood and Bournemouth was covered by providing connections with Wilts & Dorset route X3. From 7 June 2010 a new route X4 was launched between Salisbury and Ringwood via Verwood, Alderholt, Fordingbridge and Godshill, running three journeys per day in each direction. The service was withdrawn in October 2010.
