Jacob Hebert also known as Dorian Phibian was an unconventional Democratic candidate in the race for the House of Representatives 3rd District in the State of Louisiana . Hebert garnered 28,385 votes, more than the officially funded DNC candidate, while crowdsourcing the qualifying fee and relying heavily on social media over typical sources of candidate funding. Hebert became nationally recognized for running an eccentric campaign of "Sublime performance art" and not the Democratic Party. Hebert's split with the DNC was additionally notable in that it was not recognized in subsequent polls and articles around the U.S., and Hebert was listed as a Democratic candidate. Personal life Hebert maintains a public friendship and running discourse with Louisiana Representative Clay Higgins(R-LA) on Facebook, often debating radically different approaches and solvency to issues while still maintaining civility. Performance art One of Hebert's more notable performances was in high heels at an official DNC function, symbolically "walking a mile in women's shoes".<ref name=Schmaltz/> He continues to create multimedia art on various media platforms.
