Donkpedia is a non-commercial German language Wiki encyclopedia started by L.M. Hopfner in September 2007.
History
After a controversy with administrators in the German , L.M. Hopfner and some other contributors decided to create a poker-only encyclopedia.
In the first year, about 150,000 individual visitors spectated the page.
Offer
Almost all the articles, expect a few ones about countries and cities, deal with the subject of poker.
The contents are released unter the GDFL license.
As of September 2008 there are 1,676 individual articles, which makes Donkpedia the biggest poker lexicon worldwide.
Donkpedia combines an encyclopedia with a news page, as current events are topic of appropriate reports.
Other products
Donkpedia supplies free software for the online poker room Everest Poker, for instance a poker tool named DonkAnalyser who gives the user odds and other advices about the current hands.
Criticism
About two hundred articles are almost exact copies of german articles.
However, most of these articles were created and edited by henceforth Donkpedia staff in the first way and on the bottom of every page there is a remark to the congurent article.
