Do Good Real Estate is a philanthropic real estate brokerage firm headquartered in Wilmington, North Carolina that serves the Wilmington, North Carolina and Wrightsville Beach communities. As part of its mission to "make an impact" Do Good pledges to donate 20% of its gross commissions to local charities and 501(c)3 organizations of their client's choosing.
History
Do Good Real Estate was founded in 2010 by former Coldwell Banker real estate broker Ryan Crecelius. Ryan is graduate of University of North Carolina Wilmington , the current CEO & broker-in-charge of Do Good, and an elected director on the board of Wilmington Regional Association of Realtors.
In 2012, John Jackson, a childhood friend of Mr. Crecelius joined the Company as a partner. John is a licensed real estate broker in North Carolina and Certified Public Accountant and was formerly with the accounting firm Grant Thornton LLP and private equity firm Apollo Global Management (owner of Realogy, the holding company of the Century 21, Coldwell Banker, Sotheby's International Realty, NRT and the Corcoran Group brands). John is a graduate of Loyola University in Baltimore, MD.
Certified B Corporation
In June 2011, Do Good became a certified Benefit Corporation . Do Good Real Estate became the first company in Wilmington to be labeled a Benefit Corporation. In order to become a B-Corp, companies must meet comprehensive and transparent social and environmental performance standards, among other requirements. The goal of the B-Corp is to use the power of business to solve social and environmental issues. . It's a committment that's part of their philosophy of business.
Committment to the Community
Upon closing on a real estate transaction, Do Good clients, commonly referred to as "Do Gooders", select the local recipient charity to donate 20% of their gross sales commission. Donations are made in person at the charities offices in the name of the Do Gooders. As of August 2012, Do Good supported the following charities : Make-A-Wish Foundation , Carolina Canines, Kids Making It, Paws4People, Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital, DREAMS Center for Arts Education, JDRF, Hearts n Hooves.
