DJ GQ

DJ GQ was born Gary Hardie (to Chinese Jamaican/Cuban Parentage) on August 10, 1978, in Miami, Florida. After moving to Jamaica in his childhood Jamaican American.
Currently residing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, DJ GQ has become a mainstay of the Fort Lauderdale and Miami club scene. He is widely credited with being the pioneer of reggae/hip-hop blends and, as of 2007, has distributed over 300,000 mixtapes worldwide. In recent years, these mixtapes have been entitled "Let 'Em Know" and numbered sequentially. The origin of this name is a sound bite that he has continued to use in which rap artist yells "GQ...let 'em know!" This sound bite has become somewhat of a signature for DJ GQ. Of note, his cd "Let 'Em Know 17", which was hosted by Birdman, received wide acclaim, including a positive review in USA Today and "Let 'Em Know 18" hosted by Styles P was positively reviewed in Source Magazine. DJ GQ's "Let Em Know Part 19" was hosted by Miami Rapper , and Part 20 is currently in the works, and is said to be hosted by hip-hop legend DMX.

Masterful blends of hip-hop, reggae, pop, house, and even rock n roll set DJ GQ apart as the favorite among partygoers, as well as club owners, who enjoy high-energy, enthusiastic crowds that last until the lights come on. From a 14 year old promoter in Jamaica Dancehalls, to a nightclub icon in Miami, DJ GQ's resume reads like that of the music industry elite. He's rocked venues in every major U.S. market, from chic boutique parties on South Beach crowds of over 40,000 in L.A. He's wowed international hotspots from Belize to Qatar, from Romania to the Bahamas. DJ GQ has artist affiliations form Sean Paul to DMX and from Akon to Maxi Priest; and his corporate affiliations have included Pepsi, AT&T, Coca-Cola, Adidas, Myspace, and so many more. DJ GQ's work has been lauded by such media outlets as MTV, BET, The Source, USA Today, The New Times, and countless others.

Still, DJ GQ has remained ever the student, diligently observing and adapting to the music culture; growing in experience and skill, while avoiding fads and the lure of forsaking his craft for quick money. It is this ethic and aggressive pursuit of excellence that has kept, and will keep, DJ GQ one of the busiest and most respected djs in the game, and is currently the newest mixer on WHYI-FM Y100 .
In 2008 DJ GQ released "Bad Boys", featuring DMX, Junior Reid and Dawg E. Slaughter, which was supposed to be the first single off of the "Let Em Know" Album. The project was pulled back.
In 2010 DJ GQ released "Wanna see you move" a club track featuring Mr. Vegas and Chaos of Grind Mode currently being played in nightclubs in the south.
