Ding-A-Ling Wolf

Ding-A-Ling Wolf is a Hanna-Barbera cartoon character who is a featured character as part of the Hokey Wolf segment from The Huckleberry Hound Show. He is a young anthropomorphic wolf cub who is always eager to follow in the con-artist-like footsteps of Hokey, whom Ding considers his best friend and hero. Ding-A-Ling usually wears a bowler hat (sometimes red, sometimes black), a sleeveless green shirt, and a black vest.
History
Ding-A-Ling Wolf's first showing was as Hokey's diminutive sidekick in their pilot episode Tricks And Treats in September 1960. Since then, they've both had a total of 29 cartoon shorts across Huckleberry Hound's third and fourth seasons. Ding was primarily voiced by Doug Young, who would often impersonate Buddy Hackett's accent.
Further Hanna-Barbera appearances (1962-1992)
While Ding-A-Ling Wolf was not given as many further appearances in other Hanna-Barbera productions as his companion Hokey Wolf was, he has nonetheless appeared in the following series:
* The Yogi Bear Show (1962) - On the very last episode of the Yogi Bear Show in the third segment of "Yogi’s Birthday Party", Ding-A-Ling Wolf, alongside his companion Hokey, was among several guests who had arrived to wish Yogi a happy birthday.
* Yogi's Ark Lark (1972) - Ding-A-Ling made a couple of non-speaking cameo appearances alongside Hokey in this made-for-TV film, most notably during the Antarctic scenes.
* Wake, Rattle & Roll (1990) - Ding-A-Ling appeared in the "Fender Bender 500" segment of this show, with the voice of Hal Smith.
* ' (1991-1992) - In the episode “Super Duper Snag”, Ding-A-Ling Wolf made a brief non-speaking cameo as Hokey's sidekick and photographer; Hokey was the mayor of Jellystone Town.
Other appearances (2000-2007)
Like many other Hanna-Barbera sidekicks, Ding-A-Ling Wolf has also occasionally appeared on Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law.
* In the episode “SPF”, Ding-A-Ling Wolf (who was voiced by Neil Ross) was featured as one of Birdman's clients and required his attorney skills. He would later reprise this same role in “The Death of Harvey”.
* Ding-A-Ling is also seen in the episode “Identity Theft” in a brief flashback.
