Dilasa Medical Trust

History of the organization
Dilasa Medical Trust is a non-profit organisation incorporated in Mumbai, India in 1994. The trust was formed under the guidance of Dr Aniruddha D. Joshi (M.D. Medicine, Rheumatologist , who is fondly referred as Shree Aniruddha Bapu).
Mission of the organization
The mission of the organisation is to provide sustained support to bring positive transformation in the lives of people by giving them required medical and related facilities.
High-level activities of the organisation
Sadguru Shree Aniruddha Upasana Foundation is an umbrella organisation for “Dilasa Medical Trust”. The trust contributes financially as well as provides manpower in the form of volunteers.
There are various activities conducted by the trust on a regular basis on the annual or weekly basis.
All the activities are conducted free of cost.

Kolhapur Medical & Healthcare Camp ===
Need for the Camp:
* Dilasa Medical Trust & Rehabilitation Center started this project in the year 2004.
* From the year 2004, the project has been providing support to the working and labor classes in the remote areas of Kolhapur and its adjoining districts to maintain health.
Activities of the Camp : =====
The camp spans over 2 days.
Day 1 of the Camp - Distribution of Hygiene and household Materials in Nearby Villages:

* The typical schedule on the first day of the Camp is to distribute basic necessities and personal hygiene material to the village residents.
* A chart of all the villages and every individual attending the Camp is prepared in advance by local volunteers of the Dilasa Medical Trust from Kolhapur. The chart includes relevant details of each family member.
* Based on the chart, clothes of the respective age group are packed in bags with attached tags to denote the name of the each family member.
* In addition quilts, sweaters, Kitchen utensil and toys are included in the package.
* A hygiene kit is also included which contains water purification liquid, anti-lice and anti-itch lotion, comb, nail clipper, soap, toothpowder, washing powder (Laundry detergent) and other relevant material as per the need of the family.
Day 2 Medical Camp
* Second day of the camp is dedicated to the medical needs of the villagers.
* Villagers are provided Health Check Up service.
* Thousands of the villagers attend the camp site from nearby villages.
* The check-ups are done by qualified doctors with assistance from volunteers.
* The patients are provided with medicines and treatment based on the diagnosis.
Additional provisions for the Students:
* Considering special needs of the students, additional initiatives have been implemented for the students.
* The teachers of the schools guide the volunteers regarding the difficulties of the students.
* Based on this, charts are created which highlight the issues like health problems, candles and matchboxes required for studying (due to lack of electricity in these regions), need for school uniforms and other additional school requirements.
* This information helps volunteers to arrange the appropriate materials for the students.
* Every student undergoes a preliminary health checkup.
* Later each student is provided calcium tablets, multivitamin and de-worming tablets.
* After detailed check-up each student is given medicines based on his/her individual diagnosis.
Essential items given by foundation:
* Every school attending the camp is provided with sports equipment which includes cricket kit, rings, skipping rope, footballs and rubber balls.
* Each student is provided two sets of their respective school uniforms (printed as per the color scheme of their respective school), slippers (as per their feet size), candles, matchboxes, sweaters and packets of dry fruits (for nutritional needs).
Free Meals to the hard working, needy and poor villagers:
* Every year 80,000+ villagers from 280+ villages are provided with free meal at the campsite.
Medical Camps in Other regions
* The medical camps are also conducted every year in other regions as well on a smaller scale every year.
* The camps are conducted in Virar-Vasai region, Thane district.
* Also camps are conducted in Pali region for 3 villages I.e. Chive, Padsare, Pedli.
* * 60+ Doctors & Para medical staff participate in the camp every year.
* * 100+ volunteers participate in the camp every year.
* * 1000+ students participate in the camp.
Blood Donation Camp
* Since the year 1999, the Dilasa Medical Trust along with sister organization Shree Aniruddha Upasana Foundation has been organizing a mega camp for blood donation every year in the month of April.
* Upto year 2016, Dilasa Medical Trust and allied institutions such as Shree Aniruddha Upasana Foundation have collected more than 100,000 units of blood.
* The units collected are handed over to 25+ hospitals in Maharashtra & Mumbai region.
* The donors donate the blood completely free of cost purely in recognition of their responsibility as dutybound citizens.
Notebook distribution ===
* The notebooks and uniforms are distributed every year to schools.
* This activity has been going on for last 10 years.
* The distribution takes place at the time of beginning of the academic year in Maharashtra, India.
* The notebooks are distributed across various cities in Maharashtra like

* * RATNAGIRI District

* * GADHINGLAJ Kolhapur District
* * BAILUR Belgaum District
* * Kankavali Sindhudurg District

* Every year 120,000+ notebooks are distributed free of cost.
Mobile Medical Camp
* The camp is conducted twice a week in Worli, Mumbai every week.
* This mobile service brings medical aid to the doorstep of those who cannot travel to hospitals or do not have a hospital in the vicinity.
* Qualified doctors and para-medical staff offer service as part of their voluntary work.
* Patients are examined and medicines for the following seven days to are given to them.
* Medical tests like the E.C.G., etc. too are performed if required.
