Denver Riggleman

Denver Riggleman (born March 17, 1970) is an American businessman and politician from the state of Virginia. A former U.S. Air Force officer and National Security Agency contractor, Riggleman opened a craft distillery in Virginia in 2014. In December 2016, Riggleman announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for governor of Virginia in the 2017 gubernatorial election, but withdrew from the race on March 16, 2017.
Early life and education
Riggleman was born March 17, 1970, in Manassas, Virginia. He graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School and the University of Virginia. The Shenandoah Valley facility encompasses 50 acres.
Political career and positions
In December 2016, Riggleman filed papers to seek the Republican nomination for governor of Virginia in the 2017 gubernatorial election. His opponents in the Republican primary were Republican strategist Ed Gillespie; Prince William County Board of Supervisors chairman Corey Stewart; and state Senator Frank Wagner of Virginia Beach.
Riggleman was been described by the Washington Post as a "populist-style Republican." He has positioned himself as "unhappy with taxes and government regulation" and has proposed the abolition of several business taxes and cuts in economic development incentives. Riggleman has supported a bipartisan effort to curb the power of Dominion Virginia Power; he supports legislation to establish state review of electricity rates and to prohibit Dominion and other monopolies regulated by the state from donating to members of the Virginia General Assembly and candidates for statewide office.
Riggleman hired Zachary Werrell, who managed the upset victory of Dave Brat over Eric Cantor in the 2014 Republican primary in Virginia's 7th congressional district, as his campaign manager.
