Denial of lesbianism

Denial of lesbianism is the act of a woman denying an accusation that she is a lesbian.

There does exist denial of homosexulity in general.

It is common for female erotica stars to deny being "real" lesbians and claim they are lesbians for pay.

Past history

There are examples of lesbianism not being acknowledged before the 1900s like the alleged relations between Anne of Great Britain and Sarah Jennings.

Acknowledgement
Some lesbians take a long time to acknowledge that they are lesbians like Jodie Foster, Ellen DeGeneris and Rosie O'Donnell. Their "coming out" is usually the subject of frenzy by the gossip media.
