Dee-Dee

Dee-Dee (also known as The Deeds) are twin sisters Delia & Deidre Dennis and fictional characters in the DC Animated Universe. They made their first appearance on Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. Both characters are voiced by actress Melissa Joan Hart. The Deeds' motto is "Trouble on the double!"

History

Dee-Dee are members of a group of Jokerz that find themselves under the leadership of what appears to be the original Joker. (This Joker is actually Tim Drake, the former Robin, who had been reprogrammed both physically and mentally by a chip that had been inserted into him by the real Joker years before). The new Batman defeats the Jokerz and destroys the chip, restoring Tim Drake to his normal self. At the end of the movie, they are revealed to be granddaughters of Dr. Harleen Quinzel, also known as Harley Quinn, former partner-in-crime of the deceased Clown Prince Of Crime.

They were seen again on the Justice League Unlimited two-part episodes "The Once and Future Thing", under the allegiance of David Clinton. The rogue time traveler endows the Dee-Dees and their fellow Jokerz with superpowers. The enhanced Jokerz defeat and murder most of the Justice League members in their era with the Dee-Dees murdering their Batman (Terry McGinnis) personally (they also mention they killed the future Green Lantern). However, because of the intervention of the original Batman and Green Lantern who followed Clinton through time, these events were erased from the timestream.

Powers and abilities

In Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, the Deeds do not explicitly exhibit any superhuman powers. They are, however, extremely athletic and skilled in fighting, and they demonstrate a remarkable ability to move, talk, and fight in a coordinated manner.

In "Once and Future Thing", they are shown to have the ability to instantly produce duplicates of themselves whenever sufficient kinetic energy is absorbed (usually through physical impact, as shown in the episode, in a manner similar to X-Men's Multiple Man). These duplicates share the remarkable coordination mentioned above. However, since the future events of that episode were erased from the time stream, they never actually received these powers.
