Dee Allsop is an American pollster. He was the chairman of the board and CEO of Wirthlin Worldwide from 2000-2004. Prior to this he had been a leader in redeveloping the image of the steel industry. Allsop received his bachelor's degree in political science from Brigham Young University. He later did graduate studies in the same topic at Ohio State University, eventually receiving a Ph.D. Allsop first entered polling working under Richard B. Wirthlin on Ronald Reagan's 1980 Presidential Campaign. In about 1988 Wirthlin decided to expand the company into other fields of study beyond politics. Allsop headed up the work with the steel industry for which he was given the David Ogilvy Award in 2000. After Wirthlin Worldwide was purchased by Harris Interactive in 2004, Allsop was for four years president of Harris Interactive Solutions Groups. Since the summer of 2008 he has been the president of Heart and Mind Strategies, a new market research firm he founded. Allsop was made president of the BYU Alumni Association at the beginning of 2009, replacing Bruce L. Olsen.
