December 2010 Midwest Blizzard

The blizzard started during the late afternoon on Friday, December 10th, 2010 and lasted until early in the morning on Sunday, December 12th, 2010. The storm hit Minnesota and Wisconsin hard, dumping some 17.1 inches of snow in Minneapolis - Saint Paul, Minnesota. By Saturday night, nearly a foot of snow had fallen in Minneapolis. By early Sunday Morning, the snow had stopped, having dumped a record-breaking snowfall in Minneapolis: it was the largest snowfall in Minnesota since the 1991 Halloween Blizzard, and it was also the 5th largest snowfall ever in Minnesota. The blizzard caused over 400 automobile accidents in Minnesota.
