History
Dear Life was founded by Daniel Moran, Vincent Apostol and Matthew Apostol in 2004. Shortly after, bassist Mike Trujillo (formerly of local indie rock band Slow Chaser) was asked to join along with Kevin Castellon on vocals. Dear Life went into the studio in 2005 to record their 5 track demo entitled "Demo 2005". Since then, they have sold and gave away over 2,000 copies of their demo, now which can be downloaded for free off their website (see link below).
In late 2006, the band was picked up by long time friend and fan Steve Morales of Riot Squad Management (Riot Squad handles acts such as My Chemical Romance, Circa Survive, The Bled, and Hit the Lights). They also started working with the Warner Bros. Merchandising division for their merchandise and media designs.
In 2007, Dear Life went into the studio with producer and sound engineer Roger Camero (No Motiv, The Warriors) to record their debut album "Framework" . The album was mixed and mastered by Paul Miner (New Found Glory) and was released on August 24, 2008 under Uprising Records in stores and online.
In December 2008, Dear Life once again headed into the studio to record four new demo songs with Roger Camero. Soon after the demos were recorded, Kevin was removed from the band for undisclosed reasons. For the next year, Dear Life hosted try outs for their vocal position, but were ultimately unsuccessful in finding a suitable replacement. During this time, long time friend Jason Torres acted as their fill-in vocalist in an attempt for the band to stay active with shows and tours.
In November 2009, after a failed vocalist search and now faced with the robbery of all their equipment, Dear Life decided it was time to end the band. Wanting to finish on a positive note, the members booked a few last shows in some of their favorite parts of California.
Their final show is to be hosted on February 13th 2010, after which they will disband forever.
