Dean Trboyevich

Dean Trboyevich (born June 6, 1968) is a former American professional hockey player. Dean was a multisport athlete while growing up in Bovey, Minnesota, playing football, baseball and hockey.
Playing Career
Amateur Career
Dean played high school hockey for Greenway Raiders from 1983-1986, graduating in 1986. Afterwords, Dean played one season for the USHL team the Rochester Mustangs. From years 1987 to 1991, Dean played for the University of Alaska, Anchorage Seawolves Men's Hockey Team, playing along fellow Greenway Alumni, Mike Peluso.
Professional Career
Dean played for a number of minor league professional hockey teams from 1991-1999, including the Capital District Islanders, Salt Lake City Golden Eagles, the Richmond Renegades, the Anchorage Aces, the Detroit Falcons, the Detroit Vipers, the Grand Rapids Griffons, and the Milwaukee Admirals. Dean continued to play as a defenceman and was well known for his physical play style.
Controversy
On February 3, 1999, Dean Trboyevich was arrested for actions taking place during a game against Jacques Mailhot of the Fresno Falcons. Trboyevich was assessed a major penalty for high-sticking and a match penalty for attempting to injure after the cross-check. Mailhot apparently didn’t suffer any serious injury and continued playing.
