Day Omega

Day Omega is a popular Christianity based prophesy novel. The book is a fictionalized account of the final seven years on earth until Christ returns for His final judgment and the perilous times that unfold until mankind's last day, the day omega.
The story begins with an agnostic unhappily married man who overindulges in liquor and cigarettes. His wife is stuck in her suburban hell, their two children only a bit appreciative of their father's monetary hand-outs and things that bring them instant gratification. Sam Dimas wakes up with a massive hangover and another week at his unfulfilling job at an conglomerate in Chicago. Everything is perfectly miserable as he walks out of the house after an argument with his wife. A severe spring storm blows in quickly and leaves him shaken. Driving to work he notices people in the streets wandering about zombie-like or hysterically crying, empty cars idling at stoplights, and massive collisions. Sam thinks it's all a radio prank until he passes a suburban cemetery. When he sees thousands of open graves and toppled tombstones, he realizes that something incredible terrible has occurred in his city.
After millions of people around the world disappear, chaos and anarchy reign supreme. The United Nations is impotent in bringing global stability, so a new one-world is created that promises peace and safety for all. One of the leaders has less altruistic ideas and gains control in a bloodless . In time he, and the embedded into every citizen's right palm that he promises will provide security and financial equality to every person, leads the world to the brink of disaster.
After an epiphany Sam realizes what he has helped create and is chosen by God to warn the world of the coming apocalypse. Day Omega is a story about one man's trials and tribulations along the way as well a warning to the reader to heed the messages of both the media and the government's propaganda machine.
