David Pierce Hughes

David Pierce Hughes (born 22 June 1947) is a British author, poet, inventor, film maker and artist from Loughborough, Leicestershire.
He is the author of The One Tree, an ecologically themed children's book which tells the story of a young boy who befriends a tree, as well as the tree's destruction and eventual renewal.
Career
Hughes also wrote the JimJAZZ Mouse series of books for children, which explores music, feelings and colour.
His published poems include Download with Dante and Poems One Euro Each.
He has also produced many acclaimed pieces of digital art which are regularly exhibited in London and Wales. In 1998 Hughes showed his "La Tapisserie Electronique" at the Gallery O in Bayeux, France and the museum which houses the original Bayeux purchased one of Hughes' works which now forms part of their collection.
The One Tree was performed as a stage play at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2005 where it was directed by Josh Richards of the Royal Shakespeare Company. In addition the authors companion book - The One Sea was also performed at the same festival.
Hughes spends much of his time at his studio in St David's, Wales.
