David E.G. Marshall

David E.G. Marshall is a Canadian musician, songwriter, urban planner and writer based in Toronto, Ontario and Montreal, Quebec.
A founding member of Canadian rock bands Staggered Crossing and The Buffalo Builders, he has played on numerous recordings including Staggered Crossing's Mold, Last Summer When We Were Famous and Burgundy & Blue and has toured Canada extensively alongside groups such as 54-40, Big Sugar, and Jay Bennett of Wilco fame . In 2009, his new outfit, The Buffalo Builders, released limited copies of their self-entitled album, which was recorded over two days in the Church of the Messiah in Toronto, Ontario.
Currently an urban planner in Montreal, he occasionally contributes to international design and planning publications including RLI and Images Retail and has appeared in The Toronto Star, The Globe and Mail and L'actualité. In 2001, he founded the McGill Canadian Film Festival and was a columnist with the McGill Tribune where his column, The Outhouse of Comments, explored politics, urbanism and Canadian culture.
