David Allen Lambert

David Allen Lambert (born June 28, 1969 in Norwood, Massachusetts) is an American author and genealogist. He is the Online Genealogist at the New England Historic Genealogical Society in Boston, Massachusetts. David is the author of two books: A Guide to Massachusetts Cemeteries, and Images of America: Stoughton, Massachusetts. He has lectured around the U.S. and Canada on many genealogy and history topics. These topics have included: Researching your American Civil War Ancestor; Cemetery Research; Using Military Pension files; The Genealogy Resources of the Internet; Pauper Records; Church Records; Using 17th and 18th century Town Records; and Newspaper Resources for Genealogist. David has appeared on numerous radio and television shows, including the PBS TV show History Detectives. He is a member of SABR and credited with having discovered the oldest living professional baseball player, Silas Simmons, in 2005, and the first to break the news to former Major League pitcher Bill Henry that his death was reported in Florida by a man who claimed the identity for nearly 20 years.
