Dave Ronan

David Patrick Ronan was born on February 26, 1987 in the regional town of Ballarat, Victoria.
David is noted as one of the greatest all rounded students to attend the prestigeous St. Patrick's College Ballarat, which boasts many great athletes and academics from many different fields. More specifically he was touted as the man who 'brought home' the Herald Sun Shield and Head of the Lake titles.
David was vice captain of St. Patrick's College in his final year of 2005. David captained the 2005 1st XVIII Australian Rules Football Team and led them to only their second Herald Sun Shield victory (a competition featuring the best private school football teams in Victoria) in the school's 150 year plus history. David was always a talented footballer, even playing number one ruckman to now Collingwood Football Club star Travis Cloke, in the 1999 U/12's state competition for Vic Country. Unfortunately, David was troubled with injuries all throughout his school career and narrowly missed out on a draft selection in the 2005 AFL national draft.
Furthermore, David was 'captain of boats' in his final year at College and held the stroke seat position when his 1st IV crew broke the drought and brought home the Head of the Lake (annual rowing regatta featuring a range of Ballarat schools) for the first time in 19 years.
Unfortunately David's reputation with the school was permanently tarnished after he was famously expelled, following an incident after attending a rowing regatta in Geelong, where in the bus trip back, David was trusted to supervise some of the younger Year 8 rowers on the trip. David and the 1st IV cox at the time, Anthony Torpy , allegedly gave a substantial amount of alcohol to the younger students and were subsequently expelled from the college
It ended a 6 year stint as the almost perfect College student, and is still the topic of great debate among St. Patrick's officials as to why David wasn't allowed to stay on to finish the end of his final year, considering his substantial input to the College and reputation at the time.
David went on to finish his year 12 studies at Bacchus Marsh College, and now studies Physiotherapy at Latrobe University in Bundoora.
