Darkwoods

Darkwoods 1 and 2 were two QBasic games released in 2002-02-13 and 2002-07-31 respectively by Jocke the Beast. They became fairly popular within the QBasic community, and were even included in a shareware collection called '100 Great Games.'
Story
As Eduin the fearless adventurer, you must retrieve the Ring of Fire, which is located somewhere in the Dark Wood. Darkwoods 1 involves finding the Ring of Fire, and Darkwoods 2 is about your journey back home.
A mapeditor is also included and over 100 custom created maps are avaible for download.
Gameplay
Both Darkwoods games have identical gameplay. In each level, the player must either kill all enemies or use keys to unlock enough doors to get to the exit. Along the way, they can collect treasure to increase their score and can make use of several different items, such as a sword, a bow, and magic. In practice, most of the gameplay involves exploiting the simple AI of enemies to trap them and/or kill them.
