Darius G. Pridgen

Rev. Darius G. Pridgen is an American politician and clergy who serves as the council president for the Buffalo Common Council and bishop for Buffalo's True Bethel Church. Darius Pridgen was first elected to the Common Council in 2011 to represent the Ellicott District and then as the council president in 2014.
Early life
Pridgen was born and raised in a working-class family at Buffalo's Perry Projects. He graduated from Bennet High School early at the age of sixteen by attending summer school and achieving extra credit.
Education and Military Service
Pridgen initially left to attend Livingstone College in pursuit of a business degree and then enrolled to the United Sates Air Force. at the age of 22 he returned to Buffalo to pursue further degrees at Buffalo State College, receiving a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, and then Medaille College where he received a master's degree in organizational leadership.
Clergy Work
Darius Pridgen has served as a pastor since the age of 29.<ref name="auto"/>
