Danny Campbell

Danny Campbell (born 12 August 1985 in Dudley, England) is an English footballer with Jamaican, German heritage and is currently recovering from ACL surgery after injuring himself playing for Cincinnati Kings. Danny plays as a striker or winger.
He began his career at Wolverhampton Wanderers as a 9 year old after being impressed by their academy and choosing them over their Midland rivals Birmingham City and Coventry City. Whilst moving up through the age groups to the under-14 side and catching the attention of local rivals West Bromwich Albion. Campbell trialled at West Bromwich Albion and officially signed for the " Baggies " in July 1999. Former West Brom favourites Ally Robertson and Bobby Hope were a big factor in him signing.
In January 2000 aged 14 he was promoted to the under 17 side and featured often as a right sided midfield player under John Trewick. His progress continued before signing for Stockport County on his 17th birthday in August 2002, on a free transfer. This after impressing then Stockport manager Carlton Palmer who himself played for West Brom before going on to make several appearances for England.
Danny found his feet straight away by scoring 2 goals in the pre season friendly against Premiership side Sunderland after being brought on at half time. He was in and out of the team that season suffering with a drop in form and confidence. Against Oldham Athletic in August 2003 he suffered a torn cruciate ligament preventing him from playing until April 2004 where he returned away at Victoria Park against Hartlepool United creating the equalising goal in a game that ended 4-4. Several substitute appearances later Campbell was offered a 1 year extension.
With the team struggling with on and off field problems during the whole of the 2004-05 season Stockport suffered relegation to League 2 when he then moved to the U.S.A. after alerting several clubs. After a year in New England and brief spell with Czech club FK Siad Most in the Gambrinus Liga he signed for the Kings in March 2007 but injured his other cruciate 2 months later.
